SwapThing Terms of Service

These terms govern use of SwapThing, a marketplace-style application for listing things, services, and swap interests. By using SwapThing, you agree to use it lawfully, safely, and honestly.

👤 Eligibility and accounts

• You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information and listings.
• You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
• SwapThing may restrict, suspend, or remove accounts that create risk, violate policy, or abuse the service.

🤝 Marketplace conduct

• List only items or services you are legally allowed to offer.
• Describe items honestly, including condition, location, limitations, and safety concerns.
• Do not impersonate others, misrepresent ownership, spam users, scrape the service, or interfere with platform operation.
• Use common sense and safe meeting practices when arranging swaps outside the application.

🚫 Prohibited content and activity

Users may not list, request, trade, or promote illegal, dangerous, stolen, regulated, counterfeit, or harmful goods or services. Examples include weapons where prohibited, controlled substances, stolen property, illegal services, exploitative content, malware, and anything that violates applicable law or platform policy.

📝 User content

You retain responsibility for content you submit. By listing Things or Services, adding images, profile information, or other marketplace content, you allow SwapThing to display and process that content for operation of the service.

🔄 No guarantee of trades

SwapThing may help users discover possible swaps, but it does not guarantee listings, offers, item quality, user identity, delivery, payment, availability, or completion of any transaction.

🛡️ Safety and moderation

SwapThing may review, remove, restrict, or preserve content and account information when needed for safety, moderation, legal compliance, or abuse prevention.

⚖️ Per-swap hold harmless agreement

Each time you approve a swap, you confirm that you voluntarily accept that specific exchange, understand that SwapThing is a discovery and coordination platform, and agree to hold SwapThing, RainWare LLC, and their owners, operators, contractors, and agents harmless from claims, losses, injuries, disputes, item-condition issues, delivery problems, meeting risks, payment issues, or other damages arising from that swap or from another member's conduct, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

This does not waive rights that cannot legally be waived, and it does not limit SwapThing's ability to moderate, investigate abuse, or cooperate with lawful requests.

🔐 OAuth and third-party services

If third-party sign-in such as Google OAuth is enabled, use of that provider is also subject to the provider's own terms and policies. SwapThing is not responsible for third-party service availability or decisions.

📌 Disclaimers

SwapThing is provided as-is and as-available. To the maximum extent permitted by law, SwapThing disclaims warranties and is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or marketplace-related losses arising from user conduct or third-party actions.

🕒 Changes

These terms may be updated as SwapThing evolves. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.
